SOMESUCH

was founded in 2010 on a wing and a prayer. And a credit card.
Somesuch is not a proper word. It carries no meaning. But it is sibilant and nice to say. Over the years we’ve nurtured it into an award‑winning, global production company. But it has always been about more than that.

Somesuch is a culture. We believe in the primacy of film craft, sustained by great writing. We dwell on the margins, and work between the cracks – in the space between advertising, film, fashion and music.

We put our talent first. We support, develop, and manage it.
We give voice to the unexpected, the daring, the authentic, the irreverent, the funny, and the sad. We tell stories because we want our audience to feel something.
We make the shit you want to watch.

Flying Eye Books (FEB)

is the children’s imprint of award-winning visual publishing house Nobrow. Established in early 2013, FEB sought to retain the same attention to detail in design and excellence in illustrated content as its parent publisher, but with a focus on the craft of children’s storytelling and non-fiction.

Since then, an array of stunning and innovative titles have populated the list, including the award-winning Hildafolk series by Luke Pearson, the highly acclaimed Professor Astro Cat’s Frontiers of Space from Ben Newman and Dr. Dominic Walliman and exquisite picture books and enchanting illustrated biographies from breakaway young talents like Emily Hughes (Wild) and William Grill (Shackleton’s Journey, a New York Times Best Illustrated Book of 2014 and winner of the 2015 Kate Greenaway Medal).

Being an international company at our core, representing over eight nationalities across our two offices, we also actively acquire and translate some of the best children’s publishing from around the world, for the enjoyment of English speaking audiences everywhere. Many of our titles are themselves translated into several languages and we are proud to count the most prestigious international publishing houses as our licensing partners, from Paris to Seoul.

At the core of what we do is a simple pledge: whatever the project, whatever the medium, genre, or format, Flying Eye Books will take your children’s eyes on a journey of wonder!
