The beautiful Spring weather keeps coming, the virus numbers seem to be heading in the right direction, kids are returning to school, and professional footballers are now training with contact ahead of a planned return to action: There are almost too many reasons to be cheerful...almost!!

In a week that sees some kids going back to school, parents and children alike have been rejoicing all over the country!!
This week, Los Campos highlights the work of our dedicated school teachers, who have been essential members of keeping the country running in the midst of chaos. For many, who have had to carry on their work without interruption, our school teachers have taken a burden off their minds, while putting themselves at risk...

Return of the Premier League, implications for Los Campos

As we have been stressing, the closer the Premier League comes to a return, and the more successful it is in returning safely, the more likely we are to see our own training return.

*Top English clubs now train with contact in small groups;

*Some schools are allowing some kids back to 'normal' schedules;

*Lockdown rules are set to be eased following a so-far successful period

What does this mean for Los Campos?

Well, nothing concrete just yet, but if things continue to improve, we may well see some training return before too long, albeit in smaller groups at first...we keep our fingers crossed.

In the meantime, the Premier League's first return games will be those for the teams who have a game in hand, to be played on the provisional date of June 17th:

Manchester City Vs Arsenal

Aston Villa Vs Sheffield United

See the following article for consistantly updated news on the Premier League's return, including government guidelines:

Featured Article #1

I (Kiran) have recently put the question to my teams:

'Who do you think could be the next in line to take the throne of World's Greatest, when Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo eventually retire?'

Although some answers varied, with Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho, and Neymar mentioned, one name above all seemed to dominate:

Kylian Mbappe.

It turns out the experts were listening, and thoroughly agree!!

He has won all there is to win in France (at least once), and of course the World Cup with France in 2018, of which he was a key figure, at just 19 years of age.

He is still only 21 years old, and seems to have the world at his feet.

Julien Laurens, a French football expert delves deeper into why he may be the next best thing, in the article below:

Featured Article #2

With football set to return in only a couple of weeks, it is inevitable that Liverpool will unfortunately, but deservedly, be crowned champions, needing only 2 wins to guarantee the trophy.

Most people will know that many moons ago, Liverpool ruled over both the First Division, and the European cup, as they were then called. But the story of their fall from grace has been largely forgotten.

At the time, it was unthinkable that Liverpool would not win another league title for another 30 years.

See the article below to read how it unfolded:

OTHER NEWS!

From the unbelieveable, to the bizarre, to the out of this world, in that order...

Lionel Messi for free...and no takers?

In a bizarre story, it has been confirmed that Lionel Messi was available to sign for any other club, for free, until the end of May.

Although it may not surprise many that he decided to stay, it is perhaps surprising that there were no concrete offers.

See the article below:

The sound from the FIFA computer game to be used to create atmosphere when the Premier League returns??

When i said bizarre, I wasn't joking...

This is to be decided in a meeting involving all 20 clubs.

What else is there to say?? Maybe i'm getting a little old, and these things are passing us by....or maybe we're the only sane ones left...

And finally…..

When I said out of this world, I wasn't joking.

Some say he's been putting in the hours, while others say it never left him:
